1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Rundown ("the Service," "we," "us," "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. We may update these Terms from time to time; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

2. Description of Service

Rundown is a web application that generates AI-powered summaries of publicly available YouTube videos. The Service allows users to:

  • Sign in with their Google account
  • Import their YouTube channel subscriptions
  • Select channels to follow for automated summaries
  • View structured summaries with key points and timestamps
  • Receive optional daily digest emails

Rundown is designed to complement YouTube by helping users preview and navigate video content more efficiently. It is not intended to replace the YouTube viewing experience.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

4. Account and Authentication

  • You sign in via Google OAuth. We do not create separate usernames or passwords.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account.
  • You must not share your session or allow unauthorized access to your Rundown account.
  • You can disconnect your Google account at any time, which will stop all future processing.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its underlying systems
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service beyond its intended interface
  • Redistribute, resell, or commercially exploit summaries generated by the Service without permission
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Our Content

The Rundown application, including its design, code, and branding, is owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our application without permission.

6.2 AI-Generated Summaries

Summaries are generated by AI from publicly available video content. Summaries are provided for personal, informational use. They are not endorsed by or affiliated with the original video creators. We do not claim ownership of the underlying video content.

6.3 YouTube Content

All YouTube video content, metadata, and trademarks remain the property of their respective owners and YouTube (Google LLC). Rundown is an independent service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by YouTube or Google.

7. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

Summaries are generated by artificial intelligence and may contain inaccuracies, omissions, or misinterpretations of the original video content. Summaries are provided "as is" for informational purposes. You should not rely on summaries as a substitute for watching the original video when accuracy is critical. We are not responsible for decisions made based on AI-generated summaries.

8. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party services including Google OAuth, the YouTube Data API, AI model providers, and email delivery providers. Your use of these integrations is subject to their respective terms and policies. We are not responsible for the availability or conduct of third-party services.

9. Service Availability

We strive to keep Rundown available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time with reasonable notice.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rundown and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, arising from:

  • Your use of or inability to use the Service
  • Inaccuracies in AI-generated summaries
  • Unauthorized access to your account due to your failure to secure your credentials
  • Interruptions or errors in the Service

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service and disconnect your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that we reasonably believe is harmful to the Service or other users. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. The courts of Berlin, Germany shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service. If you are a consumer residing in the EU, you also retain the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence.
